tell you it would have to be because i was in that village and i was covering about story when those protesters were forming a human chain around that site and they said to me that they would fight to the death to avoid this fracking taking place in their local area somewhere where they are very proud of their clean. water that will gammick fruit and vegetable that they. the agriculture. and for them it was a big issue they were just enraged that the authorities had simply sold them out to this big company without telling them about any of the crops the quinces all of the potential technology of the risks of this technology and i have to say that these protests aren't limited to places like romania this is certainly an issue that's not this is certainly a big issue in the u.k. as well the people here aren't immune to it at the moment we've got protests taking place in greater manchester where

a company called i gas is supposed to start exploratory drilling and we know that protesters there have been trying to block roads in order to avoid trucks from arriving at the. it's just one particular test well but this company is supposed to be. opening more wells and they're supposed to have more. drilling sites because the northwest of england is full of shale gas its reserves the last u.k. in terms of energy supply for up to six years and i've been covering these fracking stories we've had protests in sussex as well as other test sites and i personally spoke to a man in lancashire last year who showed me a crack on his wall from earthquakes that had taken place near blackpool. or fracking taking place there so these are things that are still these protests are

still taking place and there is a sense of course the protest at the moment in manchester that is an exploratory drilling that's a test site but there is a sense that if companies are investing money into exploratory drilling it's going to lead to fracking. fracking is also causing a stir across the atlantic the u.s. state of texas was shaken by several earthquakes last week with some scientists pointing the finger at dozens of shale gas drilling wells in the area. and went to find out about the concerns there. we're in a town called them to in texas guess wells are everywhere here they're hard to mix the two hundred and seventy three gas wells just in this town fracking is responsible for the gas boom in the west but people here fear that they're going to be the ones paying for that. i'm very worried when they start fracking i will have to leave because of the diesel fumes more than anything i was has already had two

factions but at the center there is the lack of the presence of government and there is the lack of control these two both these two factors would lead to this situation we've seen the rise of islamic militias here what is the role of islam this in libya i mean how influential are they what are their goals well i think in the first instance i think it's a misnomer to talk about islamist movement because. unlike the other countries it's another to go even almost all of the libyans are muslims all of them are of the sunni so. the but there are political movements at least there are four separate political movements the main ones you've got the stomach movement for change which is one which was a long time ago and they even went into a discussion with. you know the muslim brotherhood have a long history then you have the islamic collective which started in one nine

hundred ninety two outside the country and then you've got the sufi movement so that now there are at least four main. movements in libya but each one of them you have divisions which are either tribal or regional and the most important problem they have here is that the weapons have continued to be in the hands of the people many of them are not surrendering their or their weapons so instead of having a purely political dispute over the power sharing they are using and this is where the whole control issue is no longer available and let's talk about the economy take for the moment because in the east we deny that separatists they're taking control of the oil reserves well what opportunity and what chance do they have to sell latter oil themselves and use the money for their own ends well i think this one relates to the external market as long as there are countries and companies who are willing to purchase the oil whether from italy or from france or or the u.s.

or for that i feel where there are countries who are willing to buy then certainly if you have the installations that you have the pipeline you have the building down of you could still some cells are oil and this oil which is being sold it is sold outside the control of the state so the locality would be the one they would receive the money this is how the scene at the present moment seems to be at least in part the government is still trying to continue to operate as a simple government whereby the minister of oil and limb. yeah deals with the other oil companies they sign contracts for us but nevertheless there is this idea of selling oil leak locally in the eastern states that we've heard that the economy is in dire straits at the moment what's the chances of western help for this what's the chance that western countries might financially try and support the government in libya well quite frankly i'm not so sure that the western governments actually
